Export Control Diversion Risk: Requirements and Best Practices as U.S. / EU Authorities Sharpen Focus

In this webinar, Anthony Rapa, Partner and Co-Chair, International Trade Group, Blank Rome LLP, will discuss the issue of “diversion” under export controls and the risks that companies face amidst increased scrutiny by U.S. and EU authorities.  Specifically, the webinar will explore authorities’ heightened focus on “diversion” of export-controlled items to Russia’s defense industrial base and other restricted end-uses; the extent of U.S. and EU export control jurisdiction, including extraterritorial aspects of U.S. export control regulations; the “Common High Priority List” promulgated by the U.S., the EU, the UK, and Japan; U.S. government guidance and EU legal requirements related to such high-priority items; enforcement risk; and recommendations for best practice.
